Prayers For Jim Woods

I spoke with Jim today on the phone for about an hour. He is very upbeat and says he feels stronger every day. That said. Jim has suffered several TIA attacks in the last two weeks. A TIA mocks a stroke but leaves no symptoms or identifiable problems after the attack. Jim is having more tests today and even more on Monday. He is back in Ohio and out of the hospital. The doctors have said there is blockage but not enough to really cause the strokes or be affecting him the way it has. They currently are baffled. He is on many medications, blood thinners, clot dispersants etc. The doctors are not sure exactly what aggressive action to take until they find the reason for the strokes and TIA.

Which brings me to what Mack Reeves was talking about. Jim told me he has to sell his race car due to the huge medical bills that are mounting. He has insurance but they do not cover everything. All their savings have been exhausted already. Connie has had to leave Jim alone and work a couple of the IHRA races recently just to put food on the table. Jim told me he needs $2000 to put off the bill collectors and feels that would be all he needs until his secondary disability insurance kicks in. If anyone would have any ideas as to a way to raise some funds for Jim I would appreciate your input. You can post here or email me direct @ jimwahl@embarqmail.com. I would be willing to match any contributions for Jim up to the $2000 he needs that anyone would care to give. Heck, all it would take is not going to ONE race to cover that!

We all know what a great couple Jim and Connie are and the dedication to us personally and to the sport they have had over the years. Thank you so much guys! I have gotten several pledges from the racing community already! It's difficult not to shed a tear while I write this. We ARE a family and right now we need to take care of one of our family members!
