I got to digging around in one of my old photo albums and came up with some photos of the 1969 A56 340 'Cuda that I ordered and bought new in May of 1969. If the build stats are correct, the car was one of only 68 produced.
340 of course, 4 speed with a 3:91 Sure Grip. No power steering or brakes. I ordered it for the 1/4 mile. I had a lot of fun with the car. I ran the Pure Stock classes, E/PS, at Thunder Valley, Marion, SD in the summer of 1969. Sure would like to have it now! #5457 Curt Rees I am udating my post. I was fortunate to find my 69 340' Cuda and have purchased and brought it home! I made a 3300 round trip to New York to find it. I went on 4 A Bodies Only and posted some photos and, low and behold, a gentleman from New York posted and it turned out he had the car! It started out in SD, went to Sioux City, IA, Omaha, NE, CA, NY and now SD. My A 56 69 340 with the #'s matching motor, 4 speed , 3:91 Sure Grip notch back 'Cuda is back home where she started out 44 years ago! As Phil Roberstson says, Happy! Happy! Happy!

Mark,
I pulled the motor and trans today to start the rebuild. You never know until you check the numbers, and they all match! The car is not going to be a trailer queen but will be driven, I honestly did not think I would find the car when I started looking 5 months ago. I had no idea how rare the car was or would be when I ordered and took delivery of it over 44 years ago. To think I will get to run the gears again in the future is priceless to me! #5457 Curt Rees
