But then the bastards would have fewer excuses for raising prices!

What about the bastards that have thrown up the roadblocks that have made it economically unfeasible to build refineries???????????????
Check the facts, there is a reason no refineries have been built here in 30 years, and it is NOT because the oil companies have not wanted to build them!!!!!!!!!!!! |

They are predicting $3.50 a gallon for regular here (Tulsa, OK) by the end of the week, due to the flooded Coffeville KS refinery being down. I was hoping it was just in this area. I was going to Lufkin, TX this weekend, but that is a lot of money for fuel with an 11/12 mph 454" Suburban. Over 400 miles each way. Anybody know what fuel prices are in the Lufkin area? It's about full of $2.79 gas right now, but I'll have to fill up to get back home.
Thanks, Ed |

I blame the Feds too, partially because of them trying to "clean up" gas and diesel. The process appears to be making fuels burn cleaner, but be less efficient and require more expensive emissions equipment on the vehicles resulting in MORE fuel being burned per mile traveled! I'm all for clean air but don't like paying so much for it. There are worse polluters elswhere in the US, and especially abroad.

Keep the Exxon boycott going, their prices are dropping first in Maryland. Some are down to $2.78.

Ed,
This is a site with my zip code entered. Just enter yours or the zip code you are visiting and you can get a pretty good idea on gas prices. http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gassta...?zip=&src=Netx It has run close around here except when there is a rise, sometimes the prices don't catch up very quick on the site. |

Thanks! Didn't know you could do this. Need to "get out" more. Lufkin weather shows 30% Sat and 40% Sunday chances for rain. Long way to drive to watch it rain. Probably should saty home. Thanks, Ed |

I always plan my trips around Flying J truck stops. They "usually" have the best prices in their area. Their web site lists all their prices across the country and, knowing my truck's range, I fill up in the cheapest states along the way. A 60 gal. aux. tank let's my bypass many expensive states!
