The number used to be published I believe at .015. As I understand the rule now I believe that the lifter only has to squirt oil when compressed with their clamp. A factory lifter generally has between .180 - .190 of travel. You can PM me if you need any more help.

Doesn't Cliff Sherman modify the stock LT1 lifters ? many stocker hydraulic roller lifter cars use them, I have them, they work great!!!!

Thank you for the responses so far. It gave me some more options to look at that I only could have got with the help here.

I also thought that 0.015" plunger travel was published somewhere, but it's not in the 2012 rulebook or 2009, so I'm not sure where I saw it.

For the Comp short travel lifters, do you bottom the lifter out with a feeler gauge (0.005", 0.010" or see what works best?) between the rocker and valve tip?
