"This thunderbolt was originally campaigned out of Virginia by Wayne Jones Ford. After the Wayne Jones involvement Tom Caldera bought it from Johnny Wenegar in Salem, Virginia, March 1974. Caldera’s purchase teamed with partner Nate Cohen decided to campaign the NHRA trail at that time. Nate Cohen was owner of Nazy Crate Enterprises in Freehold, NJ and was a hard charging Ford fanatic until his untimely death in April of 1980. Tom was owner of T&F Autobody and wanted to showcase his talents on a car and Nate would fulfill his need to fill the G force on the drag strip by working his magic on the Thunderbolt."-- http://www.nazycrate.com/

"Thirty years and many Thunderbolt restorations later, DeLisio got a phone call from Vindicator Racing's Drake Viscome, who had heard from Tom Caldara that Nazy Crate was for sale. DeLisio gave Caldara a call."

I used to attend the Ford Expo in Columbus Ohio, I believe September some time back in the 80's, always highlighted a given car or model, one year was the T-Bolt and there were I believe 12 or 13 there. That was a sight to behold.

Hey... the Carmel Ford T-Bolt (Vindicator) as mentioned previously... (which I drove/raced) Nate wanted me/us to keep... readily offered all "help" needed...we were quite involved with east coast funny car shows (with our FC) at time as well... not really enough "time" to dedicate to the SS-car...T-Bolt was later sold to Arlid Christiansen in Norway...Hence F/SA (Factory Street Altered european FIA class designation))...Nate went on to purchase/build aformentioned Virginia T-Bolt car... our picture(SS/C) class final NHRA Englishtown/Summernat's...Don Whitlow former American Airlines piolt bought car home from Europe...had Randy DeLisio restore this car to absolutely original...ol' Randy yet again...just incredible job...believe Don still owns/shows car...ol' Nate was never too "thrilled" as the late Carl Holbrook ( a old rival of Nate's) & formally of NJ...did fully sleeved motor/Ron Ross early "tin" intake...on "Vindicator" bolt...which ran/worked pretty well for it's time period...pretty steady 10.30's @ 131-2 mph...mid 70's... Drake...I loved Nate...but never said...we "agreed" on everything 'eh! ...the Carmel/Vindicator car was the original Bill Rick Ford dealer car out of Illinois in 1964..."only"...35-plus years later...1.5 seconds/20 mph slower than Ray Pacquet's-Paul Adams current T-Bolt cars...progress/technology...hard work...never stops

Wow! That Key Ford Fairlane picture is very cool. I have not seen that one, as well. Some more Crazy Nate pictures. Most of them are not mine, as he was before my time.
