I usually drive the car into the trailer, so I just have a hand operated Dutton Lainson hand winch as a backup, mounted on a pedestal at the front of the trailer. I also have a snatch block in case the car won't roll easily. Even though your car weighs 3600, the pull will be less since it is rolling, not being lifted. Use cable with breaking strength well over 3600 though.

I have used a Superwinch S 4000 for many years.I can't imagine what it would be like to have an enclosed trailer without a winch.
I also can't imagine what it would be like to not have an electric tongue jack, but I still see tons of people without them either. I'm getting old,I guess. |

I hear ya, Daryl.... Climbing in and out of my car with a cage, in the trailer (it's hard enough when the car is in the lanes) is just too much for these old bones.......... ;-) Went with an electric tongue jack, last year. Much easier on the ol' back.....

Jeff,
Does your trailer have a front cabinet? If so that is typically where they are mounted. That is where mine is mounted and the bottom of the cabinet has an opening for the cable. It is bolted through the floor with a 1/4" aluminum plate on the underside. The wireless remote is also a nice thing to have, I do not belive Superwinch makes them anymore, but Tommy Johnson Motorsports has one. Hope this helps Sean
