Mark how much should it flash, we were standing still in 3rd gear ,mat the throttle and 4900 max.

Lonnie, I'd rather let Lenny make the "Ultimate" call. He deals with this stuff every day..
I'd guess 53-5400 with a fairly small cam.

My guess is that Mark is close, albeit possibly a bit conservative.

Remember that if you're down on power, especially torque, your flash RPM will be low as well.

Alan has a good point .
Now you have to realize, if your converter is too tight, and providing it's not something out of the mainstream,and you are still not running any MPH, that's a good indication where your problem lies.
