Does anyone else see the fact that this "stocker" could have set the record in SS/AA a few years ago as just WRONG?

I Imagine Chad many just go along with this as a "progression" in Stock. I personally believe it is Pro stock revisited. Too Few rules, too little supervision Way too much excitement guiding the development.
Lets see excitement for an affordable Stock substitute that could give Grass Roots Jr. Stock type racing a come back...

Dick,
I am in your camp. It's cool what they can accomplish but $140,000.00 stockers and bringing a team of two or three with you has taken most of the guys who want to run Stock and left them at home running PRO ET.
Seriously $100,000.00+ in a car to run for $800.00 at a LODRS event....actually it is pretty darn funny!!!

At least they have a hobby...... I guess.

Leaving soft, inadequate tire, etc., all factor in. The equation assumes a no-compromise race car. Still, a remarkably fast run!

I'm curious to know what you say it's an inadequate tire? it's a 9 x 30 radial correct?

Inadequate for the HP & TQ the engine makes. I understand the class requires nothing larger than a 9x30. But then again, that rule has been around since 500HP was a killer engine. These engines are somewhere around double. Three tenths is left in that combo and it's there to be found. The reality is, it doesn't need to be found. Not today anyways!

Not sure how you figure that tire is inadequate. We run on a 275/60-15 DOT drag radial tire and run 1.15 60's consistently, 1.12 best. I have not had any problems with that tire handling 1080 hp at 2925 lbs. My tire is 10" tread, but less sidewall at only 28" tall.

Granted, apples to oranges comparing a street legal DOT to a radial slick, but very similar constructed tires. What one gives up in width it picks up in rollout.
