When you are already spending so much money to be there, it makes financial sense to do both.
I'm one of the people who did this double enter this weekend at 'the hat'. But i dont think i gained any other advantage, trust me. My car picks up .04 to .06 after the hot lap. I also needed every possible minute i could get to cool down the car, which ended up stressing the battery, which made time more critical. It was fun, but also the most stressfull hectic weekend of racing i have ever had. But i think i'd do it again. I'm just going to up grade my cooling system before i do it next time..... |

And what about the National Open in Sonoma where people entered cars in stock which were not legal for that stock combination??

Let's put it this way, you did not see many hoods up in the staging lanes. And seeing a car run 2 seconds under the class index they put on their window decals. No scales or fuel check which is fine since there were no heads up races even if two class cars were paired in eliminations.

Greg, wasn't the bracket race completely separate at Indy? I didn't run last year, but in 2005 I ran both Super Street and Pro bracket. The bracket race was Saturday night only, and it's only 1/8 mile, too. I raced a Super Stocker first round, and a Stocker 2nd. I don't see why anyone would have a problem with them running the bracket race? Everyone on the grounds has the same opportunity.

The poll is rather confusing, and it wouldn't pertain only to National Open events. You can (where available) at Divisional events enter your car in your regular NHRA class, and also enter it into a bracket/gamblers event within the same event. |

No car went 2 seconds under the index in Stock at the Sonoma National Open. A car is legal until proven illegal. No one recevied 2 grade points with one car. Some people entered but did not run in the elininator. Those are the facts
