All the manufacturers have versions with sliding tethers to allow you to turn your head.

I have one and originally hated it just because of the comfort, etc. Jeff Kundratic helped me with getting it to fit right and I got the sliding teather installed. I mean I can't fully turn 180 around in the car but, I found a position in the seat where I can look to the left or right and see a good amount of the car running next to me. It just takes time.
