Ran the IHRA Richmond Race this weekend and met 2 other Pure Stockers that ran the meet.
We took our share of competitors out

There was a beautiful restored and very fast 1972 Chevelle SS running in H/PS.
The car ran almost a second under the index.
and
Gary Burr and wifes 2001 B/PS LS1 Camaro running 7.70 ET

My car managed a .7778 under in the 1/8 mile race.
Made it to Round 4 Saturday and only Round 1 Sunday.
Lost to some guy that may own a Italian Pizza place.

Sunday it started to drizzle after round one and may have been poetic because the race was cancelled and had a long drive home.

The ride was drizzly all the way back to Maryland.
AND
What shoud have taken 2.5 hours took 4 hours.
I really hate I-95 Virginia Traffic ...bumper to bumper most of the way.
At times white knuckle driving as some drivers tailgated all the way up.
Even if it was a tractor trailer rig.

It was a typical sine curve of speed up slow down with constant slow downs.
Much caused from way too much Car Porn Intercoursing going on and the Rubber Necking to view the exchange to Verbal Fluids of information on the safety lane.

Cicero thanks for the good words.

I have two key skills and Engineering Degree from Maryland and been in the professional recruiting field for 40 years.

Formed a Corporate Soccer league in Florida in mid 80's
Know one key thing, It is all about one bite at a time !!

Right Now know the following cars.
H/PS 1972 Chevelle - forgot name
H/PS 1987 Malibu Dennis Roberts - Ohio
H/PS Mustang Steve Klacik - Pennsylvania or Ohio
B/PS 2001 Corvette Steve Kaufmann - Texas
B/PS 2001 Camaro Gary Burr - Virginia
G/PS 1995 ImpalaSS Wagon Corbitt Marshburn - think he sold it. - NC
G/PS 1988 Mustang Rob Butler and Record Holder NC
G/PS 1995 Impala SS my car - Maryl;and

Remembering Pure Stockers from last year
C/PS Camaro white forgot owner
H/PS 1957 Chevrolet
I/PS Mustang

FWIW Pure Stockers are essentially the Stockers of the 80's and 90's with Stock Spring Pressure.

A/PS is about the same ET as E/S and E/SA

Just a more cost effective class and should have the Indexes adjusted to allow for the new and faster cars to run.

If I'm not mistaken Dan, Corbitt's wagon was a "true" Stock Eliminator car and yes, I believe he sold it. His Pure Stocker was a '95 Impala SS he bought from me many years ago and again, I could be wrong, but I think he and Colby still have it. Last I hear it was collecting dust in his garage. They had Jeff Warren do a motor for it and had it running very well.

Yes you are correct and ran it as a N or M/SA in NHRA and G/PS in IHRA.

We hooked up at Coastal Planes IHRA race last year.

Corbitt puts together really nice cars.

As far as your slogan ... Pure Stockers are actually "Stockers" ... the other cars that run under Stock now are really SS and maybe even Comp cars. $1K lifters, transmissions that live for how long?, turn-key run 1.0+ under lifting at the 1000' for $100K, ...
