Well I have to disagree you get 10 per round made not won. By rule if you pass tech but do not qualify,therefore no 1st round , you get 10 points for that event. Now maybe this has changed. If you do not make 1st rd but qualified, you would receive 20 points for that event. Happened to me before.

Must have been a long time ago when it happen to you. Like I said, I have never seen a 20 pointer in the points details. Maybe you can give us a link?

I don't know the exact why and how but, there are several drivers in the national superstock points with 10 and 20 points respectively. I imagine they were at an event but perhaps did not make a run?

NHRA LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES POINTS
In all NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series categories (including Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car), points are awarded at national, regional, and divisional events as follows: Actual Field Size: 1st Rd. loser: 2nd Rd. loser: 3rd Rd. loser: 4th Rd. loser: 5th Rd. loser: 6th Rd. loser: 7th Rd. loser: R/U Win 4 or less 33 64 85 5 to 8 32 43 64 85 9 to 16 31 42 53 64 85 17 to 32 30 41 52 63 74 95 33 to 64 30 40 51 62 73 84 105 65 to 128 30 40 50 61 72 83 94 105 129 and over 30 40 50 60 71 82 93 104 115 All remaining event non-qualifiers or no-shows in eliminations will automatically receive 10 points. A minimum of 10 points will be awarded to all contestants upon completion of event tech inspection and registration. Points will not be awarded for qualifying positions in any NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series categories. |

So you can get 10 points or 30 points at an event with no possibility of getting 20..

Correct. 10 points by passing tech and then it`s 30 points after a passing qualifying run even if you`re a no show first round.

So what you are saying is that you get 20 points for rd. 1 plus 10 for passing tech. But of course you have to pass tech to get to round one. But don't you have to get on the sheet to get to round one. Interesting.
