Is it Jerry or Rick that has to work till noon? If your making the tow up your giving up a better than average chance at making more than you will that morning any how! Work Monday thats what I'm doing!
For any one concerned with the shut down area at Top End Dragway. don't be!, I know from personal expirience if something does happen (like a complete brake failure) Its extremely flat past the end of the pavement!

It's me(Rick) that has to work. If dad wanted too work I would just leave him home. If I don't show up Saturday, come Tues morning I'll be calling you asking if you know of any job openings. At the moment we only have four guys in our department and need two on for Saturdays. Being it is a holiday weekend the other two already made plans to be out of town. So here I'll sit. Dad isn't an NHRA member anymore probably been 5 years already and has little desire to be one or I would send him up on Saturday morning with the car.

Rick

Hey Rick, I was just giving you a hard time. If you want to send your dad up with the car I'm probably just gonna have the kids cars there. I'll have my helmet with however My NHRA stuff is all up to snuff I have been known to have daily moments of brillance. I'll pay entry and fuel and split the take with you!

The smoothness at the end of the track is only on the years they happen to plant beans. Corn years get a little rough. But I have seen some really fast cars there stop with no issues going much faster than any stock or super/stock.
