Live from Maple Grove - NHRA Lucas Oil Series

Good morning - first things first on this fine sunny Memorial Day - thanks to those who served - because of your efforts we can enjoy races like yesterdays .

Next thing is even though most of you are still in their jammies some of us are back hard at work this morning ( including this reporter who is open for business ) and will get to bar-b-quing later .

I've still got a bunch of pics also and will get them posted during the day .All in all it was a super good race that i'm glad they got in yesterday as Ken really hates overtime .

Here are a few more shots from the late rounds .Speaking of late rounds I managed to go some yesterday but not without the help of my good friend and great chassis tuner Tom Goldman - owner of GAS Racing in Allentown, PA -I was having some issues and he managed to keep me off the wall - and without his help I wasn't going past round one .On top of that thanks I have to put a shout out to my friends Marc LaBrecque and Jeff Jewell for crewing for me - thanks boys, it was quite a day .

Just wanted to say thank you to all the racers who participated at this event. My son and I were there both Saturday and Sunday spectating and had a great time as always. It's cool to see so many of the posters here actually running.

As a side note, Lewis Bloom in the announcing booth said if Jack won the event, Lewis would never announce again. This was pretty late in the rounds and when Jack lost, Lewis let out a sigh of relief because he said he didn't want to quit announcing. Of course it was all in jest but Jack, maybe if you see him, give him a hard time about that one!

Festus - Lewis has been someone I call my friend since he started announcing many , many years ago at Raceway Park - and knows that I would never , ever hold him to his words if I won the event .......And just for the record I was trying to win ! ! !

Your doing a good job Jack with a car that must be tough to handle.

I can't realy imagine why Lewis would say a thing like that in the first place....
