Going back to Jack's original post about the letter, and not telling him.
At The Englishtown National event 3 years ago. They didn't like my front fenders The fenders had louvers in them. They were the only fiberglass fenders made for a Neon, and actually 3 pounds each heavier than steel replacement fender. I showed them I was running a complete inner fenderwell, so there was no aerodynamic advantage (just dead air space). They told me I could run that race but had to change them before I raced again. They sent me a letter stating that and cc'd it to every DD and every division tech director. I was a little upset because I though minor customizing not to gain an advantage was allowed. I just bought the fenders and painted them with a rattle can total expense less than $100.
