Anyone ever try going the Tappan Zee to 684 N, 84 E, 90 E, 495 N, 95 N route? I prefer it over 95 which always has alot of traffic and seems to be under construction perpetually. Just a thought. See ya there.

That's the way I went going up for the National .
Altho getting off I 495 at exit 51B for Rt 125 ,I think is better than using 95. It's the best way I've gone so far and I was recommended by the Sawyers ,who probably have made that trip a thousand times ! My neighbor, who runs a truck route across the Tappan Zee did say that the bridge was only open on three lanes since the piling test bore construction started on the 15th.

Kent Hanley suggested we take 287 to 87N to 84E. prolly 20 miles farther than tappan zee/ 684, but waaaay less traffic. Works well for us.

[QUOTE=shawnfricke;391154]Anyone ever try going the Tappan Zee to 684 N, 84 E, 90 E, 495 N, 95 N route? I prefer it over 95 which always has alot of traffic and seems to be under construction perpetually. Just a thought. See ya there.
Shawn[/QUOT Shawn try RT 290. Run 84 to the end it will put you on 90 (mass pike) take 290 east Auburn/Worcester exit. Run 290 to the end and follow signs to 495 north. Route 125 (exit 51B) is 11 miles shorter than 95, but there is fourteen traffic lights. On a good day you can go .75 percent on green lights. 95 will have alot of beach traffic I would try your luck with 125. If you go 125 look for the signs for Rockingham Prison it will be a right hand turn right before a old white church this road will lead you right to the track. Hope this helps.

When I went up for the nationals. I hit a 27 mile backup on 95 N that started as soon as I entered Connecticut. Anyone know if that construction is still there?

Mr Gray is right that is the shortest route. The Rd for the Prison is North Rd. You want to take that right. It's about 2 miles long and will dump you out right at the track.
