I never found "getting the perfect spot" changed how the race ended up... BUT...I know it is important to some. Amazes me the free time racers have and then we hear about racing is too expensive (probably not from guys who can park a week early though).
Just kiddin'... everyone has a hobby, sometimes it getting parked, having a cookout (or 10) and other times it's something else. Wish I could be there, it is STILL INDY.... the first Nationals I attended in 1968 a gear-head buddy and I slept in the car for two days at the Lion's Campground, Hemi cars doing burnouts in the park.... I was HOOKED!!! Enjoy, Jok |

The early birds live close by and most just park and lock their stuff up and go to work. They stay out there at night to keep an eye on things.
