Once the dust has settled on Friday & Saturday and the Champions are crowned all the winners in each class will receive the "Happy Gilmore" Check as they like to call it. This Check is great to hang in your trailer to show the fellow racers and spectators of your accomplishments. 2 weeks from today....we start to park cars!!!

A big THANKS to Super Street Racer Kelli Barbato & Super Comp Racer Bill Hardifer for helping put together over 300 goodie bags last night at Bills House. I know everyone is saying "Ugh...Goodie Bags" but, these bags are filled with cool things including a Edelbrock 75th anniversary hat, a Nitroplate Hat, T-Shirt or Koozie, Weiseco Piston Key Chain plus your Nitroplate Stock/SS Participant decals and important information that is always asked around the track..."Whats the radio Station?", "Anyone have a schedule?", "When's the BBQ?" plus that important Tech Card to go racing!

As we all know, this event is being held along with the Uncle Buck Memorial 90 Nationals. For those of you who were wondering why this event is named the "Uncle Buck" Memorial 90 Nationals. Here is a short article that the famous Bob Frey did for Drag Race Central after his passing last April. I know a lot of Stock & Super Stock racers were friends with him including John Leach, Bunk Miller and a lot more. If you never did meet him I'm sure you have seen Ronnie at the track at some point during your weekend. At the event we will have a donation box set-up for anyone who would like to donate to Pancan (Pancreatic Cancer) to fight this nasty form of cancer. Last year we raised over $700.00 that was sent to the organization in Bucks Name. For every $5.00 that is donated this year your name will be placed into a box and a random name will be drawn on Saturday Night for a FREE entry into the 2014 event!

What to expect and where to go when you enter the Nitroplate Stock/SS Shootout!
First off, anyone attending the Lucas Oil event being held at Englishtown this upcoming weekend and would like to bring their stuff to Numidia following the event the gates will be open till 6pm on Sunday. If you are going to be any later please call the track line (570-799-5090 / 570-799-5091). I can’t tell you if anyone will be there or not but, call first before you tow out there and you can't get in. I will not be at the track till Wed or Thursday of next week so I cannot help out in anyway. Once you enter the gates for the event on Thursday, you will only pay for any spectators that are with you. A 1 day pass is only $7.00, 2 day pass is $14.00 and a 3 day pass is $21.00. On Thursday all we are doing is parking cars and getting set-up for the event but, someone will be at the gate to collect the spectator cash. Gates will be open starting at 10am till 10pm on Thursday (If you are going to be late please call my Cell phone 856-332-2851 and let me know). The latest I will let cars in that night is 11pm so no 2am calls asking to get in. Nitro Joe Jackson of the famed “Scratcher” Super Gas & Comp Teams in Ohio is coming out to help with parking, pairings and anything else I can find him to do along with Ashlee Donhauser. So once you enter the gate, Joe will guide you to the spot for parking. If you have a special preference please let him know, we all know Numidia is un-even in some spots and can be hard to level out your rigs. On Friday Morning gates will open at 8am. When you arrive you will NOT get your tech card at the gate. There will be 2 large tents set up near the winner’s circle with a banner. Once you are set-up at your pit area you will proceed to those tents to get your race packet. Stock Racer Gina Mocci & her friend Becca Stepanoff will be there to greet you and collect your entry fee at 8am. If you already pre-entered just let them know as we have binders with all the pre-entered names in it (We will make this as easy as possible). Also at the time if anyone would like to enter Micro-Strategies CIC Race or the Quickfuel Stock/SS Combo race you may do so. Tech will be opening at 9am up by the gas pumps with the Free Test & Tune starting at 10am. The Micro-Strategies CIC Race is scheduled to kick off at 12:30 for the 1st qualifier with 1st round at 1:30pm and 2nd round at 2:30. Lanes will be closing at 2:30 for the Test & Tune. Qualifying for the Quickfuel Combo Race will be at 3pm with 1st round hopefully beginning at 4:30pm. I’m still working on getting Friday to be just us but, Friday Night is a big money maker for Numidia and their street night, so I’m still awaiting word on that. If we cannot finish the special events we will move them to Sunday as we have the track all too ourselves that weekend. Once again on Saturday gates will open at 8am with time shots beginning at 9:30am SHARP. We will be calling Super Street to the lanes at 9:15am. Once the 1st pair of Super Street is in the Water Box the call will be made for the next class which is Super Comp, then Stock, SG, Super Stock so be ready to go. Once Super Stock is finished we let Mike and his crew do a little track prep then go start over with Super Street. 1st round will be scheduled for 1:30pm so be ready to go. It will be random pairings for 1st round and if we have an un-even amount of cars the driver in Stock & Super Stock with the best reaction time in 2nd qualifier will get the bye in the 1st. Once we are finished with the event, the racers BBQ will begin at 7pm down by the end of the grandstands. If anyone would like to bring a side dish feel free and bring it down to the Donhausers trailer before 7pm. The menu will consist of BBQ Chicken, Corn & Hot Dogs. It will be a BYOB as everyone drinks a lot of different beverages so trying to guess will be a mystery. On Sunday, the Mid Atlantic Super Comp & Street Series will run Race #7 of their series. Non-Members are welcomed to race with us. If there is enough interest we will run a Super Gas & Stock/SS extra race for those who want to do some more racing or you can head on over to Knoebels to have some fun or just go home and enjoy the day. If weather becomes a factor on Saturday we will use Sunday as the date and will have to cancel the MASSA & MASCA events (Lets just hope we don’t have to worry about that). Sorry once again for the novel but, nobody can say they were not surprised Rob Keister 856-332-2851 |

Some people have asked me for Directions to Numidia:
I MUST TELL YOU THIS 1ST, IF YOUR USING A STANDARD CAR GPS PLEASE DON'T FOLLOW IT. IT MAY TAKE YOU DOWN SOME NARROW AND SHARP TURN ROADS THAT A RIG & TRAILER MAY NOT MAKE! This was the directions given on the Numidia Website: Numidia Dragway is located off of Rt. 42 in Numidia, PA. It is a very rural area surrounded by rolling hills and farm land. If you are planning on using a GPS system use this address: 10 Dragstrip Road Catawissa, PA 17820. If you are towing a large trailer please call or email for the best route as the GPS may take you down some tiny country roads and covered bridges. Here are a few other options: From South Jersey, Delaware, Maryland You can always take the 95 to the Blue Route then take the NE Extension to Route 80 Once on is Route 80 take it to exit 232 (Coming from the East or West doesn't matter) (This will bring you out to a Flying J Travel Center (East) or a shopping plaza (West) travel down Mall Blvd till you get to Route 11, your on Route 11 for like 1/8 mile then you get back on Route 42 and take that into Catiwissa. Now the town is small and the speed limit is like 25mph. Once you pass over the bridge (Susquehanna River) you will travel into town about a mile. On your right will be a restaurant named "Cracker Barrel"...not the one we are all used too! Make a slight right at that light should still be on 42. If you make a sharp right #1 you will never make the turn and will be going to wrong way...haha. Travel that for about a mile or 2 (Dollar General on Left), and you will come to a stop light at that time to start giving it gas as the hill that is in front of you, you will be going over. The road will split (42 and 487) KEEP LEFT (If you go right that will lead you to Knoebels). Keep on 42 over the hill and the track is about 5 miles on your left. You will see a little Blue sign on your Right (Numidia Dragway). Make the left turn up Dragstrip Road and track is on your left, enter in 1st gate. Coming from Carlise / Western Maryland, W. Virgina take 81 N to exit 116 for PA401 turn left onto PA901 W, follow 901W turn right onto High Rd (Rte 4024) turn left onto LaValle Rd turn right onto PA54/Main St turn left onto Centre St Continue on PA61/Memorial Blvd Continue to follow 61N Continue onto Locust Avenue Continue on PA 42N/S.Main St turn right on Dragstrip Rd If your coming from Albany, NY area take 87 to 84 then to 80 then exit 232 follow directions above.. From the Canada, Buffalo, Rochester area take 90 to 390 down to 99 and Williamsport then 180 into 80 to exit 232. Hope this helps out a little bit, trying to prevent any accidents or anyone getting stuck. I heard a lot of horror stories last year about their GPS taking them the wrong way and the motorhomers barely making it up long hills.. I'm sure if anyone else has some easier tips to get there they can chime in. Jack and Katie Sepanek live very close to the track and may know a few shortcuts to get you there quicker! Good Luck everyone at E-Town, I will be skipping this one! Last edited by BKSG1198; 09-04-2013 at 07:51 PM. |

Boy if the weather stays true to what it's saying, break out the hoodies and jeans next weekend! Supposed to be Sunny all 3 days with only a high in the 60's on Fri & Sat! We might not be able to set record at this event but, some racers might set some personal bests on the "Hills". Hope to see a lot of racers make it out, going to be a great event!
