I would be willing to bet had a non Chevy won, it would have been weighed. Also if a lower class car would have beaten a new super car COPO for example. I bet there would have been a spot check. Man I am sounding bitter...

Im sure both cars were legal on weight--A complete nut wouldn't throw weight out in a final--But NHRA should have taken the few minutes for weight-fuel check-

I believe that both cars were legal in every way. It just seams so odd that with so much on the line NHRA would not take the time to at least weigh them? I can understand no fuel check, equipment put away etc. But weight? I still like the fact it was a heads up final and the cars were very closely matched.

This type of BS really spits in the eye of every racer that has to waste time being weighed and fuel checked on runs where the action is totally meaningless!!!!!

It happened to Joe Lisa at Etown 2 years ago .It wasn't the final.So it aint the first time.
Im sure the Nova was legal as was Mike car.
