Default Re: ATI Present Factory Outlaw Showdown

The Factory Outlaw Showdown has been moved to the spring of 2014 . There were no available dates that worked for the racers that were pre entered for the race scheduled for 10/11-10/13

I would like to thank ATI and especially JC Beatie for his support . I cant say enough about Royce , Jason and the whole MIR staff for there support and we look forward to racing with them in the spring .

I would like to thank all those racer for there support who registered to race with us last weekend for the 10k . Without your support the race would not have happened

The race will be open to all racers this spring as long as your car is a 2008 -2014 factory hotrod . Please check www.factoryoutlaw.com for updates

Thanks

MOPAR 6.1 rated at 440HP reduced to 425HP.

COPO 427 rated at 445HP reduced to 425HP.

New 426 Hemi will be rated at 500 HP and can only run in Stock AA/SA or AAA/SA or in SuperStock SS/CA and up.

Bo,

I can't hold back anymore. I don't understand what you are trying to do with this race. You took a great idea and turned it into a circus. I understand you are trying to draw in more cars but changing the ratings for the whiners is making your operation look like a joke. You originally stated there was no rules commitee and NHRA rules applied except for fuel check. What happened to that statement?

Here you were worried about me showing up and stealing the prize so you added 50 HP on me. Now you take off 20 HP from the COPO's. That's over a 500 lb. difference between 2 cars that have the exact same engine specs. When I was in Charlotte I had the COPO's covered by 2 tenths. Please explain why I get 50 HP added and they get 20 removed.

Another interesting twist is how the new rating for the COPO's puts them into A/SA with an 11.00 index. Let's take Connolly's 9.20 run from Charlotte for an example. His minimum was 3350. Now it would be 3570, slowing him about 2 tenths which would be 9.40's. That's 1.60 under in A/SA in Charlotte where the air was mediocre.

Then you change the 6.1 Hemi to 425 HP which also puts it into A/SA at 3570. I ran 9.45 at 3470 in CC/SA at Atco. You do the math.

Talk about buying your way into the finals. Why couldn't you just leave it alone and make it simple and say NHRA weights and indexes? Now it's a big mess. This is why NHRA is still the best show in town. It will never be fair in everyone's eyes, stop trying to play god.

David did you forget about this email ?

David , In going thru the numbers I could see going to 480 hp on the V10 . Here is what I base it on . At Indy the car ran right around 9.0 at 3500lbs . The air at MIR should be better by at least a 10th and a half faster , that would put the car at 8.85 at 3500lbs which is very close to what it ran at atco in the spring.

At 480hp x 7lbs for BB = 3360 +170 =3530 lbs . So the way I calculate it the car could run 8.88 on a 10.30 index putting the car 1.42 under which is ok with me

I can tell you I don't think the 4 Ford 5.4l blower cars can run that fast they would have to go 7.98 to be 1.42 under nor can anyone else except maybe the Cook car but I.42 will be hard for them as well . So with that being said it could come down to the driver's race and I'm good with that .

The new 426 I just dont know what to do . I'm ok with the car being able to run 1.40 under but not 1.60 as it would not be good for the race . The objective of this race is to get cars that can run between 1.20 -1.40 under and put it in the hands of the drivers and put on a great show. I want to expand this race to 4 events next year and pay big money to win . My only objective is to keep the combo's with 2 tenths of each other for the first race .

This is the way I plan to do it after the first race , If the fastest Ford run's 1.60 under an the fastest Copo or Mopar car in the shootout could only run 1.30 under I would take weight off that combo to bring them up to 1.40 under then review again after the following race , If the ford is still 2 tenths faster I would take weight off again to bring the combo's closer , but not closer then a 10th

With this being the first race I need to make sure we have a good race , you know your car and how fast it will run give me a number that put's you in the 1.40-1.45 under range . I think your faster then the V10 what about 488 ?

Also if there is any chance you guy are coming you need to register, you don't have to pay until you get to the track and your not obligated to any thing but you have to register in advance to race . If you need any help registering let me know as I will be glad to help

David & Ray thank you for all your input and I hope to see you at the race . You have the fastest car in the country and everyone knows it . Good luck at the Dutch and the Mopar shootout

Thanks

I never registered because it turned into a circus. How many more rule changes are going to take place by next year? And how can I be confident that the rules won't change while I'm there?

You never answered my question. How could it possibly be fair to have over a 500 lb difference between the 426 Hemi and the 427 COPO?

Especially when I ran within 2 tenths of the COPO's both at Indy and Charlotte? 500 lbs. is not 2 tenths. It's like you're basing the 426 Hemi weight off of the quickest car in the country and the COPO off of the slowest. What's the deal?

Plus your 50 HP increase on the Hemi puts me in AA and AAA with a stiffer index and your 20 HP decrease puts the COPO down to A with a much softer index.

You claim you're trying to make it fair and it's completely the opposite. It's obvious someone is paying you to make these ridiculous changes.

David , your out to lunch . Your insinuation that someone is paying me to put Hp on you car is just crazy . I offered to look at any data you gave me but you provided nothing . I still offered to take HP off and you did nothing

The Hp adjustment were made to help the stock copo that entered the race and no one else as no other copo was entered .

You were the one that stated to me that against Connolly that you let off it in the finials and still covered him by 2 tenths without icing , race oil or leaning on the combo . Do you remember that statement ?

Get off your high horse and quit acting like a little whiner . Is that clear enough for you . If you got something to say call me .

I'm out to lunch? You put a 525 lb difference between the Hemi and Copo. How am I out to lunch?

Why would you base the Copo weight from a stock car when the fast guys are more than competitive? Why not base the Hemi from the slowest guys? The majority of the Hemi's are slower than the Copo's.

For the record, I never told anyone that I lifted against Connolly. There is in car camera footage to prove that.

Now you have the balls to call me a whiner? Keep the NHRA rules and we will see who the whiners are. Just because we did some homework you expect me to start negotiating what I should weigh at your stupid race? You're just afraid nobody will show up so you started bending the rules.

Like I told you over the phone, I would be less insulted if you just told me I couldn't come to race.
