![]() It had 288 cu in sbc Nash 5 sp Mr Gasket Vertical gate shifter. Dana with 6:50 and Sommers Bros spool and axles. I had a Motorola 12,000 rpm Tell Tale tach. The Tell Tale needle would be pinned past 12,000 rpm after each run. My best run was 10:12 @ 134.00 mph. I still have my spare 40# Hays flywheel and 12 bolt long style pressure plate. I sold the car turn key in 1978. |

I agree. I remember as a 6-8 year old pouring bleach under my Dads slicks at Epping and Conn. Dragway. Whenever he ran a 'Vette, I assumed we would lose. Those cars scared me! I remember we went to a race in Maryland or Virginia and there was a 'Vette there that my Dad was in awe of. Think it was lettered Martinez and Barth or something like that. Anyone remember? I also remember getting beat regularly by Larry Kopp and "Sundays Child", driven by some guy named Al Hoffmann! M/P ruled! Manny Sousa |

All
I added another video of the McLemore dry hop from 1992. Why is it that a new, ground hugging, 8.10 comp car is less fun to watch than this car? I can't believe he got 3 dry hops in, and thought about a fourth one! This may have been the coolest thing at the entire event. Glad I caught it. Last edited by Don Sofranko; 01-01-2019 at 06:00 PM.
