In 1992 I was in a heated battle with Todd Paton for the IHRA Alky Funny Car Championship. At the Epping, New Hampshire IHRA National Event I made it to the finals. My much respected opponent, one of the winningest NHRA Alky racers of all time offered to take a "dive" for me. With all due respect, It was a money thing for him, a trophy / points thing for me. I told him - No - Absolutely Not... I'd have to look at that meaningless trophy the rest of my life. I lost a very close race. I was runner up, and I lost the IHRA Championship to Todd Paton by less than the number of points I would have attained at that race. Do I think about it ? ...Yes... Regrets ... NONE... JB., P.S. - I won the next IHRA Natl event at Epping, beat Todd Paton in the final.... KARMA ?????...Don't know, but I'm the only one looking at me in the mirror when I shave every morning. - True Story
