Gordie,
Here's a pic of a '64 convertible that Al Corda raced in the mid 70s.

I'm surprised the NHRA let him run it without the Fury trim. I had a nice 64 Fury convert orig 383 back in the mid 70s and would still have it if some jerk didn't crash into it. It had bucket with no console and pushbuttons. I used to tow my 63 to the track with it and one day had problems with the race car and put the numbers on the convert just to make a time trial, it ran a 14.58 at about 96 mph, the only mod was stock Roadrunner exhaust manis and pipes. At the scales without me, it weighed 3975, wow, it had power windows, brakes, steering, factory sway bar and a huge clamp on Uhaul trailer hitch. My 64 Polara 500 convert had a console shifter.

Thanks Bob,
He seems to have been one of the few that ran the 64 Fury convertible in S/SS..
I've located a few other pics of it and I do like the "Savoy" look with no trim!

Found a 64 Fury vert that is turquoise w/black top and interior I am considering restoring and putting together for stock.

Gordie

Thanks to ever one who posted the great shots of the cars.

It's like taking a trip down memory lane for me.
