Gifford IL. Is only 10 miles west of my house. Went their today to volunteer for the clean up. They turned us away for now. It was UNREAL. Their were no fatalities in the Gifford tornado. There were six injured, 5 minor and one with severe hand injury. It was gut wrenching to see the town destroyed the way it was. Glad to hear Carl is fine.

One of my sons is on the Braidwood F.D. ,there district covers both sides of I-55 up to Diamond/ Coal City area. Busy day yesterday and last night ,last we heard alot of the guys were still going tonight.
A lot of racers live in this area, talked to Joe Veronda yesterday and he said it was a mess over there not to far from his house. Right after the storm he couldn't reach his mom and took him along time to go a half mile because of people gaulking .Damage started about an eighth mile past her house and she was ok.
I had 3 customers that had there farm sheds blow down on Rt 45 about 8 miles east of 66. 1 guy has a house trailer his daughter and grand kids live in on the farm and a tree went into ,but they had gone to the main house and it was not damaged.
I live between thes 2 areas and had no damage close to me.
