Window modules, door locks, OBD hook up hell who can tell - Oh I know NHRA tech can Does it include wires which control injectors or just ignition -- another poorly thought out decision This also assumes - any "hanky panky" must all be happening to the engine or could it also be going on in the transmission area or even brakes We live in a different world today and wireless interfaces are very small and can be programmed to do lots of things Integrity is what counts -- not looking for cheaters Maybe it is for only the older simpler cars - LMAO Although my '70 Camaro was full of add-on wires too Ron

[QUOTE=Andys dad;412721]Imagine stock wiring looms (big thick ones an 1.5" in diameter) on factory cars (CJs - Drag Paks - COPOs) with stock ECUs - good luck - I don't even know what they are all for or where they end up ....
This is what I am wondering. This could be alot of wires on Fuel Injected cars to seperate and label. |

They are looking for mystery wiring like this....Found in a car that has stirred some controversy on the start line. In case you cant see it, Its a hand held push button on the front seat of a stocker. Explained away as a switch for a " racing radio" what a CROCK! Wiring ran UNDER the dash and disappeared..

What a dumb way to mount a switch! If it is for something less than legal, why wouldn't they use a factory switch like a horn button or dome light button? A button jammed in a seat? REALLY??
And if it's a radio switch, there are plenty of places to mount it "in the open" and within comfortable reach. Heck, mount a factory looking power seat button in the side of the seat... Makes you wonder if it's a "controversy button"...I remember a TF guy throwing a green towel over his gas pedal years ago just to wind people up. Phsyched a lot of his competitors out when there was nothing there, he just made sure to "make a big deal" about keeping that pedal covered from prying eyes. Everybody assumed a new type of traction control. LOL. Last edited by goinbroke2; 12-17-2013 at 06:57 AM. |

Because I have 3 cars that are Fuel injected and have a bunch of wires that could be considered part of the ignition system. I was concerned about this new rule. So I called NHRA and left a message yesterday. Pat called me back this afternoon. He said " this is not a new rule it has been in the book for a long time in about 7 places". And "they amended it so it would all be in one place". I asked what I needed to do in regards to this rule to make all of them legal.
1. with a ls1 and a factory harness, factory ign switch ect ect. 2. with a lt1 and a painless harness minus the emission wires that were removed. and MSD7AL2 using a optispark and factory computer to run it. 3. a stock eliminator LT1 running Holley Commander 950 with MSD 7AL2 He said from what I had described. I was fine and did not need to do anything more. I don't think they are looking for factory wires and stuff wired in a normal manner to be pulled out and run separate/labeled. He did not say and honestly I forgot to ask what exactly they are looking for. But I thought I would pass along what I found out in regards to my stuff. |
