Are you paying contingency in 2014?

"STOCK CARS; IGNITION: All wiring associated with ignition system must be fully visible, labeled, and traceable"

So I guess I have to pull my ignition switch out of the column and mount it in the open so the wires are visible???????? You can't see the wires now.

All my ignition components are already in the passenger floorboard save the coil and switch...that will have to suffice. Termination points are already labeled on the coil/7AL box.

Hi Guys & Gals

NHRA likes to hide this stuff or did i miss it !!!
This was under general regulations

8:3 IGNITION
Each car in competition must have a positive-action on/off switch,
capable of de-energizing the entire ignition system, in good
working order, located within easy reach of the driver.
“Momentary contact” switch prohibited. Magneto “kill button”-type
switches are prohibited.
All ignition systems and/or components wiring harnesses and
attachments must utilize those supplied by the ignition system
manufacturer. The wiring harness must be used in an unaltered
manner consistent with the manufacturer’s installation and
instruction books.
All removable or pin-type timing devices are prohibited.
The use of any programmable multi-point rev limiter and/or a
rate-of-acceleration rpm limiter, either by themselves (e.g., MSD
7561) or integrated into the ignition system (e.g., MSD 7531), are
prohibited in NHRA competition.

I checked electrical under Stock 10,10a and didnt find anything if anyone has a page number in 2014 rules i would appreciate it

That looks like a complicated way to say..."you need an On-OFF switch".

We put a 150 amp RV-continuous duty solenoid on our positive battery cable and we have a push-pull switch on the rear bumper and one next to the shifter to "kill the battery" in case something UGLY starts. They weigh less than cables and rods and in the last two years, zero problems.

Oh, and on the contingency question by 442...just cut the price $50.00 and "everybody wins" ;-)

Jok you what have done is wrong in two areas. That relay is not intended to function as you have installed it. I don't care what you are reading in the specs. This will bite you right square in your *** at the worst possible moment. Also NHRA does not allow this as the disconnect. 500 people are going to post how they have been thru tech 20,000 times but it won't pass a tech person versed in this subject. Sounds good but won't work-trust me on this.
