Who cares if the HP is right or wrong? I always thought that drag racing was build a car that you like and believe is competitive, put a dial in on the window and stage it. Being on the top of sheet or the bottom of the sheet won't mean a thing late Sunday afternoon when they hand you the clip board and a pencil.

I have a '83 T-Bird bracket car with a '75 LTD 460 engine in it. All it has is an aluminum Performer intake and a cheapo Summit flat tappet cam. Still has the orginal 1975 piston rings.

Those engines are real low on compression ratio.

Tough engines for sure, but those exhaust ports are weak.

I would love to see someone build one of those 70's LTD and get it under the index.

Charlie - Do you really believe Billy Nees is building a combination that is bad ? Being at the top of the sheet is his main objective without any doubt .Billy does like to go rounds but flexing his muscles while using little or no money is certainly his forte .........

Billy, I agree us old F***ts could manage one of these cars and still have a good time driving. Often think about one of my most successful cars which was a 69 chevelle wagon which was a week end winner locally. Easy driving. LOW maintanence.but Heavy to haul around. Have a great Christmas Billy. I was offered a 76 Caprice 2 dr with 4000, original miles. Any good options for this one?

You can make N with that puppy with a flat piston 305 and there are a couple of guys out there that can make them fly! AND it's 19 HP less than the same motor in a Camaro! Almost a no-brainer.

Billy, Lay off the Jose' !
No 4bbl 305 's in 76.
You want the 400 @270 hp , 800 Qjet, 10.2 to one
N, O , and P/SA

4085 in N..That's heavy enough!

Jack, you've known me since I was a kid. Have you ever known me to build a combination that was GOOD?

Wow Jack, maybe you should lay off the egg nog.....................I NEVER mentioned anything about Billy or anyone else having a "bad" combo. Your words, not mine.

I applaud Vic and Billy for having the balls to build a car on the cheap. When they win the final on Sunday, they get the same purse and trophy that the factory car would receive.

Charlie - It was a question - not a statement .

Billy - That 'aw shucks' stuff might work well back in the woods but here in the city we look at past performances and yours are based on good solid choices of combinations and hard work .
