steel heads vs aluminum

the short block is already done. I've been told the replacement heads are far better, I'm not looking at doing anything trick with the heads just wanted to know if the new heads are a better foundation to start with. so what should I expect by using the steel heads is there more to do to the steel heads to get them to perform. I'm a newbie so any help would be great.

With that combo Alan is dead on. Now the 2 million dollar question. Who are you going to let build it? As far as I'm concerned there are only a small handful I would even think about letting do that combo. Done right the car will fly with only a 385 hp rating. Your building an expensive combo. Remember even working on a budget it's cheaper to do it right once. If you cheap out and the car doesn't run the way you would like to. You will just spend more money the second time. Barry
