Spoke with him several years ago in Denver. Nice guy and a very impressive Mustang. RIP Kip. Sad day in Fordland for sure.

My dad and I decided to take a trip out to Phoenix for the national event last year. After speaking to kip on the phone many times since we started racing and asking his advice we decided to meet him in person and spend a few days with him and help him out in Phoenix. We had a great time and he went three rounds, he even put me on the spot and made me pull his car up in the staging lanes while he was talking to someone. For an older guy, he was definitely hip to technology. Had his laptop out, had me teaching him ladder software, all while he was using his iPhone to check qualifying order! After he lost third round we went out to eat, he, myself, dad and John Calvert. Kip was sure appreciative that we came out and we hugged each other before parting ways. It would be the only time I ever got to meet or see him but it was a trip I will never forget. RIP Kip you will be missed.

Sad indeed. Recently we had good conversations of making a car run with a little motor, a stick and no carburetor to speak of.

That big super stock 352 ford sure was cool that he raced when I got my start.

Kip was always there to support The Southwest Nostalgia Drags
It was always fun to tell the uninitiated that he had a 289 and not a 427 under the hood of that Mustang.

See ya later on, buddy

AAHHH ! Damn it, Kip, we were good friends as soon as I bought my first stocker motor from you decades ago. Always good conversations at the track.
Teach 'em how to 'wheelie' with a stick shift up there. See ya mate !

Don't remember that one.

He had an A/ED with a 407 SBF in the early 90's.

Sad to hear of his passing, he was a big influence, glad I got to see him in Fontana a few years back.
