Sad to hear this. The Ford guys lost a good one there.

Back in the 70's I teched Kip's Galaxie the first time he raced it at Indy. He won SS/OA class so he got his invitation to teardown. Back then teardown was at Paul Harvey Ford. Dave Danish told me to go over Kip's car from bumper to bumper. Seems that a lot of people were complaining that a big 352 Galaxie should not run like that.

Kip's Galaxie made it through teardown with no problem. At the end of the day Kip shook my hand and thanked me for being so thorough. I thanked him for building a car that followed the rules. Over the years Kip would sometimes call me and ask a question as to whether something he wanted to try was legal or not. I always enjoyed talking to Kip and am glad I had the privilege of knowing him. He was always a gentleman.

RIP my friend.

I first met Kip through Lloyd Bray and D.G. Gillam when he was racing his Galaxie a lot of years ago. He was always quick with help and unrestricted advice. You will be missed as both fantastic human being and a great racer. Prayers and condolences for his family.

Like many of you here, I never met Kip, but that didn't stop him from being one of my heroes. Godspeed, Kip.

Kip was not only the best automotive machinist that I have known but also the most helpful. I was lucky enough to meet him years ago when his machine shop was in back of Alan Patterson's and he has been one of my heros since. He will be greatly missed.
My prayers are with his family.

My thoughts are out for his family. I first heard of him when he was in KS and I was aware that he moved his operation to AZ. You can sure tell by the posts on here that he touched a lot of people in his life.

Thank-you so much for those words Travis....your testimony to his character goes a long way towards familiarity for those of us who were unfortunate not to have met his acquaintance.
