The Honda is a stick for sure, don't know if a 4 or 5 speed. There is a video of it on you tube at Indy where he was in the other lane beside my brother during qualifying. The pass was nasty quick, David was running GT/FA and I think the Honda was already on the return road when David crossed the finish line lol. Don Jackson

I've got a 5 speed G-Force GF2000 in my car…… for what it's worth.

One thing a lot of people tend to forget when comparing my car to other super stock cars is when I ran 7.92 in SS/DX trim I was on a 26" slick, no wheelie bars, no wing, 600+lbs over minimum, the engine and drive configuration that came in the car from the factory and a 100% stock chassis car. I know I have a turbo, but I don't have all of those other things that most "real super stockers" have that would definitely aid in making the car go faster. Just something to consider as I've heard more people than not refer to my car as "not a real super stocker"

Maybe this is the reason they think it's not a "real superstocker", section 11A of the rule book.
Reserved for foreign and domestic factory-produced automobiles
and sports cars. Classified per NHRA performance rating as
listed in the Official NHRA Stock Car Classification Guide. Only
those cars listed in the guide are eligible. All cars must be factory
production assembled, showroom available, and in the hands of
the general public. Minimum of 50 factory-assembled units of an

already accepted Stock model required
The only Honda's listed are Civics 2006 and 2007. Get in touch with Honda, get that S2000 in there and come back racing with us.
There is a little turbo car in the guide you might be interested in, if Honda has problems getting with NHRA.

I did all of that. After a couple months of BS faxes, emails, phone calls, run arounds , I finally got ahold of the right person, with the right information and forms that NHRA requested. Then I was informed by Bruce at NHRA that I didn't need to submit the car because the "modified" section of Super Stock is a weight/cubic inch class, and the car didn't need added to the guide. I don't make the rules. Would of been nice to know that before spending all that time doing the work to get it submitted.

And last time I check I didn't know a Cavalier was a RWD V8 car.

Well, Carey I apologize.

I wasn't aware of that, must be how the VW is running too, now that I think about it.
Glad to here your going to be out more this year. Last past I saw you make at indy in the fall, you was all out of shape. Man that car is wicked fast.

Thanks.

Haha, yeah that was scary. I mean the car is always a bit unstable but that was ridiculous. I pretty much was bracing for impact. Guess my car doesn't like a cold track. that plus too much clutch and we just fixed a fuel pressure issue before that pass and we were putting down quite a bit more power than we ever had way too early. Guess we found what the car didnt want. Kind of got away from me.

I'll be attempting to run some comp this season.

And just so you know , my cavalier comment was tongue and cheek. No disrespect intended. Just wanted to clarify if the wink icon didn't dictate that.

Someone correct me if I am wrong! I believe the MX class cars were created in the late 70's, for ex pro-stock cars, to use in Comp eliminator, with 4&6 cly engines. In the early 80's they were moved into Modified. After the demise of Modified eliminator, they were then absorbed into the Super Stock ranks. The cars themselves can be built very close to the early Pro-Stock rules, with complete tube chassis, fiberglass fenders, doors, hood, deck lid, lexan glass, etc.

As far as where the class started and where it went throughout the years I'm not sure of as I was just a kid in that era. But yes, the cars can be built as you described. However, mine isn't one of those cars. Imagine how it'd run if it were.
