Interesting..So I'm guessing any car that came with a fiberglass hood can turn it into a lift off , as long as the hinges are still there? ie, 442 Olds, Formula Firebird

I would hate to try and lift off a 442 hood Steel frame with Fiberglass over lay, they are heavier than the flat hoods.

If a car had springs on the hinges, I would think they would also have to be there along with any latch mechanism. Maybe converting to a lift off hood is not such a great idea for most cars.

What is your point, that a lift of hood gives a performance advantage? I believe you were over on the HAMB asking the same question?

Yes I was, and I knew Travis would answer me there too.

My point is...actually two points:

To help preserve at least the appearance of traditional Super Stock cars.

To make sure these unwritten rules are known and accessible to all makes and models if they so choose to utilize them.
