Any one there already that can comment on what they think.I watched the weather channel this morning and it looked like the rain would totally miss Phoenix and they are not even commenting on anything falling in the area just California .

Beautiful night tonight but slightly hazy
My bet would be possible rain delay Saturday but race will get run. Just guessing but trying to help out those trying to decide whether or no to come.

Good luck

I agree with Mike....the race will get in.

Nascar race here this week end also. The latest forecast calls for highs in the 60's Saturday and Sunday. (much cooler than the 80's we have had for the past couple of weeks)

Any rain on Friday (qualifying day) will come after 5 PM. Saturday could be a wash out, but Sunday afternoon looks OK and should get everything in.

Forecast:
The "main event" arrives on Friday, with rain, even a few thunderstorms possible in the Valley as early as 5 or 6pm. However, I think the prime time for rain will be during the overnight hours into Saturday morning.

I am still looking at the possibility of up to 1" of rain out of this storm for Phoenix, which would end our rain-free streak in a BIG way!

Snow will fall in the mountains, with the snow level fairly high...starting at 8,000' lowering only to 6,500' at the lowest.

Unfortunately, the rain will fall as the Valley plays host to a large outdoor event: NASCAR. Events on Saturday could be delayed/postponed/canceled because of the rain, but the afternoon looks a little better than the morning. Then on Sunday for the big race, I see some lingering pop-up type showers that could impact afternoon activities at the track.

This is also the first weekend of Cactus League Spring Training games! Ugh.

With the clouds and rain this weekend come cooler temperatures. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will stay in the 60s.

Plus lower ET's on those two days as temps (per the current Weather Channel forecast), will be:

Fri: High 79 degrees under mostly cloudy skies, with a 20% chance of rain.

Sat: High 69 degrees with a 70% chance of rain.

Sun: High 67 degrees, under partly cloudy skies, with a 10% chance of rain.

Today was fairly windy, with a high of 80 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow and Sunday, with little to nothing being done on Saturday.

Thus I agree with both Mike and Gary....

Only 3-4 cars waiting outside gate 1 overnight..Either everybody's already in or racers scared off due to the forecast.
