Thumbs up Re: "Live" from the Gators 2014

Some of the best runs of the event. GT/J Final great race, side by side the entire track, and then the Stock auto final. R/SA Caprice vs Skillman in his AAAAAAA/SA Mustang. It looks like the caprice drilled the tree and won!, 14.05 index vs 10.00! Great race. But first rd qual of stock was crazy. The lime green charger clipped the sign in front of the tree, crazy wheels up and immediate right turn in the air, all was good. Mickey Whaley looked to almost put his on one tire then went to the center line. Darren Pool(sp?) Did one crazy wheel stand, dragging the bumper to at least 200' pedaled it once and then gone. Randy in her pontiac did the most perfect wheel stands I have seen in a long time and bad fast! Really had a great time yesterday. There was some incidents, a couple engine in the super classes, one of the super charged mustang looked like it ate itself and Brad Ploud appeared to start smoking on the other end very badly but he was back fro the next run so all is good. Wish every one the best of luck today. Also met some great guys and gals, Larry Hill and Mrs Patsy, The Phil Colms and Randal Camball.

Looks like several cars were a close to a tenth off the dial in Super Stock. Was this due to the track conditions/wheel stands/weather/ etc..? Great .009 package by Ronnie Dutton.

Those are know as quarter panel protectors, they keep the rocks and rubber from damaging the quarters. A racer from up here in Massachusetts makes some real nice ones and he has patterns for several different cars. They work great, the rubber can be very difficult to remove. If you are looking for some I can send you his contact info.
Thanks Larry and Patsy for the great live updates!

I could be wrong, but is this the largest gathering of 7-second Super Stockers and 8-second Stockers in one place?

My cur currently doesnt have them as you would suspect and it gets old trying to get the rubber off the rear quarters and makes it just look terrible.I always see a few cars with em and always catch myself saying wow thats a great idea lol Thanks for replying
