Thanks for posting that Michael.

My question:

I understand the 2nd qualifying round is also the first round of class eliminations.

If I driver is still in the class run-offs, is his 3rd qual. run also the 2nd round of class eliminations ?

And... is Q4 the 3rd round of class eliminations ?

Looks to be a very exciting weekend !

Alan, only round one of class counts for qualifying (Round #2 of qualifying) for main event. Qualifying round #3 and round #4 will be on Saturday. The other runs you make in class on Friday will not count for anything.

Lucas Oil Class Eliminations are on Friday. Q2 is Round 1 of Class.

All classes run Class Eliminations. Some racers, fans, and companies have gone out on their own to put together sponsorship for one or more classes. The "SS/K Shootout", "U/SA Shootout", and "Pure Stock Challenge" are just names highlighting those particular Class Eliminations runoffs, since those classes have additional sponsors.

Only Q1 & Q2 count toward Main Event and Quick 32 Qualifying.
Q2 is Round 1 of Class. Class Eliminations will be run to completion on Friday. Round 2 (and later) of Class Eliminations do not count toward qualifying. Quick 32 & Junior Stock will take place Friday following the completion of Class Eliminations.
Q3 & Q4 take place on Saturday.

I see.

This will be my first class eliminations, so I was not familiar with the process.

Thanks

I don't believe there is one. Not really concerned, to be honest. Two weeks ago at Virginia Motorsports Park, we had 399 entries on Saturday, ran a time trial and a round of buybacks (it was a bracket race), and we ran the first final by 9:30pm.

TIME MANAGEMENT
Friday will be the longest day, just because it'll take more time to handle pairings and cooldown time for Class Eliminations, etc. On Saturday, with 350 cars, we should be done with qualifying by 2:30pm. Not everyone will get in the optional Combo race, but even if you had 100% participation, we should be done by 8:30pm. Sunday, we go straight into eliminations. Even with 400 cars, we should be done at 5:30pm.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP - When you go through tech, you will be issued a colored run decal to be placed on the driver's side base of the windshield. During Q1 on Friday and Q3-Q4 on Saturday, we will call you to the lanes by class and color of the run sticker: i.e., "Stock RED" or "Stock BLUE". This will alleviate having 200 cars in the lanes all at the same time. Please listen for you class call, and come when you are called. The Track Radio station is 88.3FM. We will huddle with Redman and Nitro Joe and determine the run order for Class Eliminations and announce that when we have it ready.

When the schedule says, "Qualifying 9AM", that means we're doing burnouts at 9AM sharp. (Set your "Stocker Alarms" and we'll make the first call to the lanes at 8:40-8:45, so we're ready to rock n' roll.) On Sunday, Racers for Christ Chapel Service is at 8:30 am. At 9am, those of you on the first page of the ladder get'em ready and to the lanes for pairings ASAP so we're ready to turn tires for first round of eliminations in the Main Event at 9:30am sharp.
