Default Re: SS 3 generation Camaro unequal length 4 link

Years ago, some of the SS chassis builders would put the 4 link in the wheel tub to get around the unequal length bars..For instance the Pat Curran built, Jim Danuel, Cotton Perry/Allen Patterson/? / Sofranko Nova..
I seem to remember , when NHRA figured out what they were doing, they frowned on the practice..Could be wrong on that.
Anyway unequal , equal shouldn't matter much...The operating principal is still the same.

there are a few problems with the unequal design. the short upper bar causes a severe pinion angle change during suspension travel. plus it has a much more limited adjustment range, as compared to an equal length setup. that being said there's a bunch of them out there. and usually aren't too much of an issue, except for with the higher hp cars.

If it's an Eastexas Racecars (Vic Custer) Camaro, you should just buy it.

I ain't no chassis guru, but I've had four 4 link cars, and two were F body Camaros, one a Vic Custer car, the other a L.A. Automotive car, a home built 67 Nova, all three were unequal length. The cobalt is equal length. I also had an Ed Quay 67 Camaro with a ladder bar in SS\CS that left as smooth, or smoother then the 4 link cars. But again, I'm dumb on chassis setup. Now, this will blow some minds. The 67 deuce we are getting ready for paint has a split ladder bar set up. I will get some pictures when we get done. The housing is getting powder coated, or I would send some now.
