Beware - of the huge, never ending, incredibly long grade about halfway up 87.... You will know you are getting pretty close when one tractor trailer after another blows by you at 100 mph in a futile attempt to get a running start..... You'll know you're really close when you start to smell burnt clutch...... Finally, you'll "know" you are there when your rig slows to a crawl but still passes the tractor trailers that are going 2 mph with the flashers on and the smoke from the burnt clutches pouring out from underneath.

If you want to see the view, first you must climb the mountain,,,,,

Yes there are big hills, but don't be afraid, and do yourself a favor and go up 87 during daylight, it is the most beautiful ride in my opinion, especially when you get above Lake George , take a moment and stop at one of those rest areas too
