Anyone else run into the Iowa DOT on the way home besides me...after I broke on Saturday???

I'm still trying to figure out WHY I was pulled over in my head......28ft Tag, NO Decals, being pulled by a GMC 1-ton, NO Decals....going 65mph in the right lane on I-27 N.

In all fairness, the officer was nice after I answered 10 questions or so and got me back on the road after about 10min.

Glad you made it home safe.
The only place we saw police was where road construction was. They were on both sides of the highway right before the lanes would merge from 2 lanes to 1, and the speed reduced to 55. But this was on I-35.

I would think he was checking to see if your truck could pull your size trailer 10k for 10K?

I'm traveling 65mph in a 70mph zone, driving in the right lane. When he pulls me over, and gets to my window, I ask: Why have I been pulled over? His reply: "I'm checking to see if your a commercial vehicle or not."

Other questions he asked are as follows:

Where was I coming from?
Where am I going?
What is inside my trailer?
How much fuel do I have inside my trailer?
How long is your trailer/rig?

After answering those and probably a couple others that I can't recall the exact wording, I replied----"the IRS already told me I was a HOBBY this spring. I have the tax court records to prove it!"

And all along he is detaining me, 3-4 semi's go by hauling freight.

He didn't even ask for my MN driver's lic or Insurance card.

Bill and all involved with the track operation, I wanted to say thank you for such a nice place to race. Several things that really impressed my wife and I.

1. Nice and clean facility
2. Speakers that you can actually hear announcements
3. A schedule that was maintained
4. Enforcement of kids not being allowed on anything with wheels in the pits
5. Friendly staff
6. A track that is made for the racers and spectators. It looked like quite a few families came out to spectate Saturday and Sunday.

Again thank you for such a nice place to race. It was worth the long tow and we look forward to coming back.

Thanks to MIdwest Class Racers and Heartland S/SS for everything as well.

Sean
