Exactly what he said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.
There are a bunch of program variables that you don't need to concern yourself with (Air Conditioning controls, emissions, etc). You need to focus on the timing and injector events. When you get gears, you'll also need to increase the rev-limiter. If you change the cam and injectors at some point, you'll need to change the MAF meter and adjust the injector size scalar in the computer. There are a number of very helpful tuning websites out there that you should join, and a lot of information in print to read. Buy a set of 5:14 gears, and find a way to get into that computer. |

No new update ,rained out for the 4th time in two weeks. Used the time off to replace the fan with a elec. unit how much H.P. do you think that will free up.

That electric fan and w.p. setup should be good for at least 5 h.p....probably closer to 10 hp. That's .1 sec off your e.t. right there. As Charlie ( 7423) stated above, the Tweecer allows many adjustments and is a simple plug-n-play setup. Their site: http://www.tweecer.com/

Using those programs, can you change from mass air to speed density and is there any performance benefits? or repeatability?

Got to the 1/8 track Tues. without a rainout. The car dropped about .03 and picked up 1 MPH with the elec. fan setup. Did a best time ever 8.7019 with 77.18 mph. I tryed the timming @ 15, 16, 17, btdc with out any real change. I don't have a weather station , everyone said there cars were slower. What do you think for the the next change , more gear, MSD box , adjustable fuel reg. stock elem. cam ?

Do you know anyone that has a set of 26" slicks you could borrow to try? That would go a long way to show you how much a gear change would help your car.
If you spend the money for a stocker cam along with valve springs and good lifters, your RPM range is only going to go higher. Your 3:90 gear will become even more of a problem. A fast stocker 5.0 is going to run 7000+ rpm. You need to gear the car according.

Last nights best 8.64 with 78mph 1/8 mile, air was 2500 ft. only changes were removed the screen from T/body and took out 20 more lbs. Still can't get to the 1/4 mile track test and tune gets rained out ever week.
By the way that a good idia about the test with a 28'' tire Slickfoot |
