This is terrible news. Earlier this year Rusty helped us with some Q-jet issues out of the kindness of his heart and I was very grateful for his time. He was in poor health then and still took the time to help...the time spent talking with him in his shop was an insight to a true racer.

What very sad new's. We were looking forward to seeing him at the Indy Open. Will miss his smile, friendly advice and his unique 'gater cart. Drag racing and his family have lost a great guy.

RIP..........RP. I spent alot of time at Rusty's house and also at Beech Bend with the whole family in the late '70's when he drove my dad's car. I am sad to hear it, but the only thing I can do is smile when I think about Rusty. I think he hit most of us that way. Truly one of the good guys. Prayers for Cherry, Scott, and Farrah.

So very sorry to hear of rusty passing,. He always had a good story to tell and was quick to offer a helping hand to a fellow racer. I,m gonna miss a those good times we had with him over the years. Our thoughts are with his family . Rocketworks race cars. .
