Unfortunately EGOS (and there are ALOT of them on this board)get in the way of rational thinking. I race any and all stock/superstock races I can, (local combos to Nationals). A race is only as important as you personally make it to justify racing the event. The fun factor is the same for all races (maybe NHRA Nationals is like watching paint dry!, lol), but nevertheless, racing is racing.

James, what were the top ten SS cars doing wrong at Maple Grove?
Richard, it's great that you like bracket racing, and can go race that often.

I will choose to race both sanctions, combos and even an occasional bracket with my stocker because I just like to race! You guys have your opinions and there's nothing wrong about that and wish you all the success you can have.

James, I certainly agree about the new cars not always facing hp corrections.
Some of us can't just go race every time a gate opens. Local brackets here have No-E, which is foot braking, and "Pro", with delay boxes, throttle stops, etc, etc. Neither one would help much with an SS car. No close IHRA races anymore. Not that I would go back.

On a few rare occasions they had to forgo heads up runs because of unforeseen circumstances you guys try to portray ihra as just bracket racing is not accurate. Toe it sounds like they just want to justify not racing ihra. You had guys complaining about crate motor cars and how they weren't real stockers, they were under factored and they dominated qualifying but doesn't stop them from racing with the new factory cars.

I saw this quote the other day, it fits this thread..."Arguing with _____is like playing chess with a pigeon...No matter how good you are, the bird is going to ***** on the board and strut around like it won anyway" Bahahaha!

X2
I use to know someone who raced pigeons and I like chess. But it's hard to find time or anyone to play against.

Myron I haven't run across too many gearheads that play chess except my stepfather so I will have to bring him one weekend to a d2 race.
