Sorry have not posted in a while. but this should make up for it. Tony Beam from Denision Iowa has been busy these last few years restoring a piece of Cornhusker raceway history.

On September 13th come on out to I 29 dragway the Nostalgia races will be held, formerly know as the geezers race. The TENSION will be on display and there is a good chance the Don will get behind the wheel and make a pass down the track

Just curious... Were the ladder bars still filled with "lead"? They used to be....also front fenders were really "thin"...funny how that acid works..lol. Also, I had a Miles trailer..,they were nice. I bought mine new through Mike Daughety..Performance Sales.

The lime green car was from South Omaha....Pollish (Poland ancestors) great guys and could really drink beer. I believe they called the car "Concoction" It has been long enough ago, we can probably tell stories,..lol. That car had an Olds rear end...with a "Pollosh Locker" (ya need a welder to make one) I also think they were the first ones around Omaha to use canted - angle plug heads...really helped them....also, the car was noted to shake or wobble the front wheels after the burn out.....lol. I've got lots of stories if ya want more...lol

10 grand and dump the clutch! The only major difference is he now runs a 355 instead of a 287 incher. Fun guy with unlimited stories! Here's a shot of Duane at I29 Dragway a year or two ago: ![]() |
