RIP Leo. We have lost a real friend of Sportsman Racing from Division 3. Always a smile and a firm handshake from this friend. Truly a sad day for us all.

Leo had a real passion for class racing and the Performance aspect of it all. He really enjoyed and respected it. That showed in his accurate and thoughtful approach to announcing. I will say also that no announcer that I have ever heard. ( out of the many excellent ones out there) knew more about the racing families as well. it was pretty much his trademark to not only inform the audience about the cars, but also to note the many family members that make up the typical sportsman teams. He knew so many by name. It really spoke to his skill as an announcer and his passion for the sport and the sportsman.
RIP Leo!

Leo was among the top 5 best drag racing announcers I have ever listened to, he didn't have to use slap stick comedy in his announcing, he told you who was up there, what car, motor, hp at times and sponsors if they was some painted on the car. RIP my dear friend, all is good.

I have known Leo since he was the track announcer at Quaker City. He was good then and even better as our Division 3 and National announcer as has been stated. I could tell he was not doing good when we went to see him, but I hoped for the best .RIP my friend, you already have been missed.

Another good one gone. Leo knew more about Sock, Super Stock, and Comp than any announcer I ever heard. Not only did he know the classes he knew the people. He knew the wives or husbands, the crew members, the sponsors. What a great guy. It was my pleasure to know Leo. RIP old friend.
