Think of the absolute tonnage over the nose required at 8000 rpm. In reality, that diesel engine probably maxes out at about 1200 rpm. It either idles or runs against a governor turning a big generator.

Think about it. @ 9000 RPM that roller lifter is moving up and down 75 times a second. How much does it weigh? Show me a picture of the push rod and spring that controls that!! No wonder those train engines are maxed out at 125 RPM. That is up and down 1.04 times a second in the train. Let's put the spintron to work on that one!!
