I thought that was what happened at Indy.

I like the idea of the shootouts a few times a year, but those runs should be totally separate from the regular qualifying runs in Stock.

Or....create a new class and just put the shootout cars in Factory Experimental.
Problem solved.

Moving the FS/X cars to their own eliminator at the 4 premier events is the only way to fix this problem. Simply reducing the index and allowing them to still be exempt from the ahfs won't fix a thing. The Stock Eliminator and ahfs rules are very clear.

That's a great idea Bruce.

That would solve the problem.

All stock eliminator cars should race under the same rules. Having 2 sets of rules at the same race is just wrong. Bruce you were #2 qualifier at the gators in my book.

When first hearing about the rule change thought it was great and fixed the problem. Later on info on the shootout came out with it still part of the regular eliminator and qualifying........
That didn't fix the qualifying situation many were upset about at Indy or the other national events on the schedule.
The reality is NHRA and manufacturers want the shootout (so do we) but cannot bring themselves to create a separate eliminator for it promote correctly and feature it on TV.
Until they all step up problrm not fixed 100% it's only money.
