Hmmph. I got into racing 1/8th scale off road 4wd Nitro Buggies a couple of years ago with my son when he was 9. I'd rather drive the car myself, it's much easier than remote control. It was a lot of fun, but I ended up delegating myself to be his crew chief and pit crew. I was never a competitive driver, while he was winning features, lol.
If you have never raced them, working on them is a lot of fun. There are so many things to change with tuning, including engine, clutch, exhaust, chassis settings, shocks and springs, tire compounds and patterns, and on an on. When I woke up and realized we had over $10k tied up in RC cars and parts, I sold it all and bought him a Jr. Dragster, lol. |
