Jim, That is a correct assumption. I've always called it Snow Ball effect. I've always had a line in the sand or point when I would let the customer go. I think some people use the logic that if someone else does it and gets away with it it isn't cheating. I'm sure some have seen this happen in their engine or parts business.Over the years I've developed into bending the rules and being "Creative", maybe outsmart someone or out work the competition. In my youth I subscribed to the Snow ball effect a few times and came away with an empty unfulfilled feeling. This business is like being an "Arms Dealer" what is required by the customer is always in a spiral, escalating upwards.

Here's my 2 cents .. I think the sanctioning bodies should suspend and then hire these accused cheaters and pay them to find other cheaters. Once they catch their allotment , then they can be reinstated. Just a thought. Unless there is "honor amongst thieves" then its moot.

Well Herb, from all the replies I've read, if you ever see it happen again you need to make everyone present aware at what's taking place as it is happening, otherwise the good old boy network takes over, and depending on the cheater's resume they may try to make an example of someone who doesn't win rather than tarnish a former or current champion. These thieves have no problem stealing or sleeping at night because they don't have a conscious, and that character flaw is what allows them to think they are not breaking the rule's. And those who subscribe to the idea that "it's not cheating unless your caught", please continue to read the previous sentence until it sinks in.

From My experience listening to the IHRA, do not wait for an "official" announcement to satisfy the masses. The IHRA will deal with the racer
in question accordingly and if the racer was found illegal, you will not see him @ future events
