The Model 41500 weighs 12.1 pounds.

Wasn't the original idea behind the rules change because the newer seats were "safer"?

Yes, but they look like hell with the lid off in most older cars...not so bad in the late models.

My '64 Savoy will keep it's bench seat for that same reason...they look like some roundy round crap, plus I would have to change my roll bar because the new seats put me more than 6" away from the bar.

I like the looks of the stock seats in my rambler too, just don't car for looking at my headliner after hitting 2nd....

I believe Kirkey makes a bracket/spacer to fill that 6" void. I prefer the stock seats also,but it is hard to ignore the benefit of moving 40-50 lbs. to the weight box. Especially with a iron headed big block up front. Speaking of weight shifting, all the Camaros that were made to remove the cowl induction hood lost 30 lbs. off their nose.
