pro Mod is a all out class. there is no bracket racing there.

But I would not want them to switch.

As a racer or fan?

It's the same answer for me, Pro Mod. With a clutch. But Pro Stock is probably my second favorite class.

PS is good ,close racing but that's about the only good thing about.
The body mods allowed is what lost it for me.
They look like Pro Mods on gas.
Don't even watch it anymore.

I'd watch this:

Mark thanks for sharing that video.

To quote John Denver - "FAR OUT"

One of the coolest videos I have seen.

Way more fun than the current crop of Pro Stock cars run by NHRA.

The old timers still prefer Pro Stock but its boring and all the same cars , basically.
Pro Mod , on the other hand , has much greater spectator appeal as well as participation from racers. Never mind VARIETY.
As far as I'm concerned , Pro Stock either needs a complete over haul or should just die........no one except the racers and old timers really care about PS any more. After the early nineties it became too predictable anyway.
In other words , make PS small blocks and fuel injection / turbos , but the cry babies that participate would never embrace that concept.

Anybody that thinks that Pro Mod is not a performance based class has obviously never raced it. Thinking that all you have to do is just "turn up the boost" to go quicker is ridiculous. A power adder engine is no different from a naturally aspirated engine, in respect to the fact the whole package has to be worked on to make the most of it.
There is only so much "boost' available from any given power adder. and all of the max effort Pro Mods that show up at a NHRA race have long passed the performance level that it alone provides. Once that threshold has been reached, extra power has to be found in the details, (heads, cam, stroke/bore ratios, etc) exactly like a naturally aspirated engine. And then, they are faced with the daunting task of getting all of the power to hook.
I've spent a lot of time with Pro Mods in the past. As a spectator and fan, I would much rather watch them than Pro Stock. As a racer, I would still rather go with Pro Mod. Quicker is ALWAYS better, lol.
