Mod was the format and NHRA missed when they chose it to delete. two or three wt breaks or spec combos to satisfy ford or Chrysler and chevy racers would do tons to level the field on Money issues. |

When qualifying and going fast becomes a factor in the chase for money, then the dime rockets will not longer cost dimes. I'm glad for there to be more options for people to build cars that don't have to cost so much money and be competitive. The costs associated with attending and traveling is enough by itself to be a stumbling block for people to get involved, much less $30k plus to have a car to compete with. Now if we can just figure out how to win with one of those dime rockets.
Dick, I love that you are so passionate about what you feel is an answer with the mod classes. However, if it would come to pass that your class became an eliminator formula that opened doors for real prize money, titles and championship type support, the cost of competing in your class would be more than it is for an SS car.

Dick, build one of your "non wild spec motors" and show how cheap it can be done.

X2 - But I am glad to see something added that can be built on a budget. Only real way to get more people out there racing - younger generation.

The "younger generation" can't relate to old cars! That MonteCarlo is 28 years old! I hate to say it but we need V6 and 4 cylinder new Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers in the guide and rated as to be competitive. And in dragracing, the FWD stuff ain't gonna cut it.
